Into the Forest
Description
Well it’s been a while since I updated, but I assure you that’s because I’ve been swotting up on photography. I’m taking my camera out of the easy modes these days and trying my hand at the manual setting. That means lots of mistakes, but the upside it it gets me thinking about how to take the picture.
Anyway, here’s one I picked out of the trip to puzzlewood from back in April. I spent some time post-production on this, to ease away the saturation mostly, but to find a nice balance in the lighting.

Hi Andy,
Great photograph. I’m into forests / woods myself. We have the Alkrington Woods / Rhodes Lodges nearby where I live but it isn’t anything like what Puzzlewood seems to be. And what an unusual name too.
I think it’s a bit of a shame the person was in this photo but it isn’t too bad. Taking this at night time with the Moon in the Sky would perhaps set it off.
Kind regards,
Andrew Cooper
Hi Andrew
Thanks for stopping by. I had a look at those woods you mentioned, and I might plan a trip up there at some point as it looks really nice. A different kind of forest but worth a visit. Also, I don’t think access to puzzlewood is allowed at night, since it is a business essentially (there’s a small fee for entrance).
Puzzlewood is actually a fairly small place, and the routes you can take around are carefully designed to interweave. Quite an unusual place indeed.
